Welcome to the ‘Introduction to Student Health Nursing module’, created in partnership between Newtown Union Health Service and CPD@Whitireia. In this module, you will explore the role of a nurse working in a student health environment. Student health nursing is a unique area of primary health care nursing practice. This module highlights the complexities of student life, factors to consider when working with students as well health risks and challenges students can face.

  • Understand factors that determine the health of communities
  • Understand the foundations of Primary Health Care in Aotearoa New Zealand
