Medication Calculations Competency for Enrolled Nurses
This resource has been developed to provide a competency assessment for enrolled nurses whose scope of practice includes the administration of medications. The competency assessment provides a baseline by which nurses can assess their skills with performing medication calculations.
This competency course will assess your ability to calculate:
- calculate oral tablet and capsule doses
- calculate oral mixture and solution doses
- calculate intramuscular and subcutaneous injection doses
- perform metric conversions.
In order to successfully complete the Medication Calculation Competency course, you need to achieve a score of 100%. You have unlimited attempts at each section of the competency assessment.
20-30 minutes depending on previous experience which can be done over a 6 month duration. You gain 1 CPD hours (Continuing Professional Development) upon successful completion of the course.
This course is aimed at enrolled nurses whose scope of practice includes the administration of medications, but who are not IV endorsed.
